Pond liners can be laid out with particular convenience in warm weather. For larger areas it helps if friends and neighbours lend a hand. Ensure a perfect subconstruction with a bed of sand and/or protective liner that takes the edge off sharp stones and root remnants. With pond waders you can always move about your pond with no problem when performing maintenance tasks. Rubber liner that is extremely flexible and tear-resistant is recommended for swimming ponds.

Thus step by step the water garden dream becomes a reality:

Step 1

BEFORE YOU START obtain complete advice on the liner and accessories that are right for your pond.

Step 2

CLEAR PERIMETER. Mark the perimeter of your pond with sand, sawdust, or simply with the shovel.

Step 3

DIG DEEP. Excavate the pond with bog zone, shallow area
and deep water area. The dirt you remove can be used to create a watercourse.

Step 4

MEASURE CORRECTLY. Determine liner requirements" Double the depth of the pond and add this to both length and width; lastly add 50 cm on each dimension for overlap.

Step 5

CLEAN LAYOUT. Lay out the pond liner without folds. Individual parts of the liner can be sealed with PVC expansive seal compound, Clad the bank area with stone liner.

Step 6

READ CAREFULLY. Carefully read the instructions for installing the OASE pond technology (pumps, filters, light) and follow these instructions precisely.

Step 7

PLANTING AND DECORATING. Place water plants in plant pockets, baskets etc. as desired. Set-up pumps and mount underwater spotlights. Lay out hoses and cables where they are accessible.

Step 8

ADD WATER. Fill the garden pond with water. Hose water is preferable to rainwater or spring water. Thanks to the water pressure the pond liner will adapt to the substrate.

Step 9

ALL'S WELL THAT ENDS WELL. Ensure that the capillary barrier encircles the pond liner, and decoratively arrange the bank area. Your very personal water garden paradise is now ready!
