"Sludge depth measurements (...) have shown a significant reduction in the amount of sludge present: for example, reductions of 50–75% have been measured.
Thanks to using your product, the municipality of Döhlau has benefitted from considerable cost savings compared to conventional desludging through dredging and then hauling away the sludge." (T. Knauer, First Mayor, Municipality Of Döhlau)
Located in Tauperlitz, Bavaria, the Quellitzsee is a lake around 5 to 6 ha in size. Although mainly intended as a semi-natural body of water, it is also used for swimming and fishing.
Due to the now well-advanced sludge formation in the body of water, which was very shallow to begin with, this case was urgent and the solution needed to be extremely effective. The body of water had nearly silted up completely.
Preliminary tests indicated that 1.55 t of SchlixX Plus needed to be added to the Quellitzsee in 2014, which was applied with the help of a special water vehicle.
The sludge layer was able to be reduced to only 5–25 cm in total, which constitutes a 50–75% reduction in the sludge.
In 2015 and 2017, smaller amounts of SchlixX Plus were once again added to the body of water to maintain the good results of the SchlixX Plus treatment given in 2014.
SchlixXPlus receives the German Award for Sustainability from the German Institute for Service Quality. Under the patroness Dr. Brigitte Zypries, former Federal Minister of Economics, and B.A.U.M. e.V. chairwoman Yvonne Zwick, the jury selected OASE as one of three award winners.
