Hörstel, 21 January 2011. On 25 December 2010, OASE GmbH, the leading glob-al premium provider of water gardens, fountain technology and lake management completed the water engineering works on the large-scale project “Crane Dance” at the World Sentosa resort in Singapore.
The design is a global innovation: Two huge mechanical birds, each 24 metres high and 80 metric tonnes in weight, imitate the mating dance of a couple of cranes using complex light, water and sound effects. With this unique sight Singapore wants to boost reputation as a location that is both innovative and cosmopolitan. The “Crane Dance” is now accessible to the public and can be watched every night at 9pm.
The realisation of this complex project was proceeded by over three years of plan-ning. The particular challenge of this project for OASE was the sophisticated combi-nation of fascinating fountain design and professionally integrated engineering. Four swivelling water jet devices are perfectly synchronised, forming the 24-metre wings of the birds, providing consistent water pressure even while the birds are in motion. An electronically controlled compensation system ensures that the span remains the same, irrespective of the angle at which the crane have been set up. Thanks to this OASE solution, the “Crane Dance” was realised within the planned period of time.
“Our engineers have worked on this large-scale project for many months. The newly developed water engineering methods which deviced for “Crane Dance” give proof of our creativity, our technical know-how and the innovative strength of our com-pany,” says Ansgar Paul, Chairman of the OASE Management.
Previously, in early 2010, OASE had set up the Lake of Dreams for World Sentosa in Singapore – a multimedia installation that combines the elements of water, fire and air with a light show. Moreover, OASE has been commissioned to conduct vari-ous further projects at World Sentosa.
As well as its traditional end customer business through the retail trade, OASE has successfully conducted large-scale international projects for a number of years now. This includes, for instance, the fountains for the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, the 1,100-metre rainbow fountain along the Banpo Bridge in Seoul and the world’s biggest floating water organ on the river Neva in St. Petersburg.
OASE makes its products in Germany and China. Products are developed in Ger-many, while in Singapore OASE also runs a design centre for complex 3D anima-tions which provides the best possible solutions for the needs of international cus-tomers.
