OASE Living Water

Tips & tricks for installation

Note the following!

Topic Decorative pools
A wide variety of pools (in shape, size and colour) are available at garden centres. The pools should be absolutely leak-proof and should be able to collect the falling spray water.

Topic Cover
Various possibilities are available for the selection of a cover. A non-rust grate is a good solution and so is a plastic panel or a weather-resistant wood construction. Pay attention to sharp edges!

The cover should have an opening so that the water can flow back into the container. It should only be large enough that the decorated pebbles on the cover cannot fall into the water reservoir. The thickness of the cover must be suitable for the respective application and load. If the cover is extremely large and if there is a load on the cover, support elements should be used in addition.

Also the cover should be large enough that it cannot slip off to the side, or shift in position. It is advisable to position the cover below the edge of the reservoir, otherwise there will quickly be a water loss due to water flowing through the side. If you are also using pond liner around the pool ensure that the water can flow back into the pool.

For example the water reservoirs offered by OASE with a matching cover cut to size, are ideal (loadbearing capacity to 300 kg). The size of this pool can be extended to the desired diameter with pond liner.

Topic Acoustic insulation
Instead of pebbles you can also use a foam panel (approx. 2-5 cm thick with approx. ppi 10, available from specialised stockists). This offers the advantage of less splashing water and less water impact noise. The foam should be placed deep enough that water hitting it cannot get outside of the pool.

Topic Splash protection
The ground around the water pool should be selected so that, if necessary, splashing water can immediately seep away, and that there is no danger of people slipping. A wind-protected location and sufficiently large pool (if necessary with liner extension), can minimise splashing water. Instructions in this regard are also provided in our quick set-up instructions and use instructions.

A transparent column can also be used for splash protection. This is placed on the cover around the product and ensures that as little splashing water as possible gets outside. Important in this regard is that the splash protection must be at least as high as the fountain. The material should be strong enough that it is suitable for placement or for being secured so that it cannot fall over.

Topic Winter care
Not all of the products are capable of withstanding winter conditions and consequently they must be stored in a frost-free location. To facilitate set-up, installation or removal an empty pipe that can withstand shovel impact can be laid out between the control box and the water pool, (at least 6 cm Ø). This offers the advantage that the cable can be concealed, and protected against unintentional damage.

Please comply with the use instructions that explain how the control box with transformer and product must be set up. We also recommend that pebbles are always used as a thin layer. These measures will make it easy to remove the products for cleaning or winter care.

The following always applies:

  • Remove the respective product from the packaging and read the instructions carefully!
  • Please note that due to weather conditions (wind for example), the pool size used, installation situation or selected product program, water could splash outside of the pool.
  • The installation situations presented here are merely examples that must be adapted to the local conditions.
