OASE Living Water

Tip 4: Pond pumps

Modern pump technology defies freezing weather

The good news for pond enthusiasts: Sub-zero temperatures cannot harm the new generation of OASE pond pumps. Switched off, models such as the modern AquaMax Eco Filter and watercourse pumps, can even remain frozen in ice and snow without damage.

The following applies for all pumps that are not frost-proof: Safeguard them from winter conditions in good time!
You should take pond pumps and filters out of the pond before the first frost.

Tips for proper maintenance:

  • Thoroughly remove contamination and deposits from everything – our recommendation: AquaActiv PumpClean.
  • Check electrical lines for cracks.
  • Inspect the seal of the outer pump housing for leaks.
  • Check UVC bulb. (The bulb should be replaced after approx. 8000 operating hours.)
  • Store the pond pump in a bucket of water in a frost-free location. This keeps the seals moist, contamination residues do not harden.
